Robert J. Sonnelitter, Jr., CPA

Robert J. Sonnelitter, Jr., CPA, Principal, has 35 years' experience in accounting and auditing.  He provides research services on difficult accounting and auditing issues for clients and the firm.  Mr. Sonnelitter has served large and small public and private organizations operating in a variety of industries.  He has also held an internal consulting position at a large corporation, where he provided expertise in accounting matters and was a project manager at the Financial Accounting Standards Board ("FASB"), where he addressed complex accounting issues and contributed to the development of accounting standards.

Mr. Sonnelitter is the author of "SOX 404 for Small Publicly Held Companies," published by CCH.  He has made presentations on business topics to company, business and professional groups, has published articles on accounting matters and has provided comments concerning proposed accounting or audit standards to the FASB and the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

He has been responsible for ensuring that accounting and auditing client service engagements were performed in accordance with applicable professional standards, has provided training in accounting and auditing policies and procedures.

He has an M.S. degree in accounting from the State University of New York at Albany and has a B.S. degree in engineering and management from Clarkson University.  He is licensed as a CPA in New York, Connecticut, and Georgia and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State and Connecticut Societies of Certified Public Accountants.
