News ReleasesRSSM Expands Operations To New City and White Plains, New YorkNEW YORK, NY – January 1, 2011 - Rosen Seymour Shapss Martin & Company LLP (“RSSM”), Certified Public Accountants and Profitability Consultants is pleased to announce that Kahn, Hoffman & Hochman, LLP ("KH&H"), Certified Public Accountants has merged their practice into RSSM effectively January 1, 2011. The firm will operate under the name Kahn Hoffman & Hochman LLC, a Division of RSSM LLP. The merger adds an additional 40 accountants to RSSM, including 4 partners. This increases RSSM's total manpower to almost 250. The firm will continue to serve KH&H's clients from their existing offices in New City and White Plains, New York. Mr. Michael Hochman will be the Partner-in-Charge of the New City office. KH&H was founded in 1974 by Gary Kahn, and under his guidance the firm has enjoyed substantial growth while emerging as a leading force in the Rockland County business community. RSSM is thrilled to now be the largest accounting firm in Rockland County, providing tax and business consulting services to over 600 businesses and 1,200 individual clients from the New City Office. Martin L. New Partners Michael Hochman, CPA Mr. Hochman has over twenty five years of experience and will be the Partner-in-Charge of the New City Office. He has vast experience handling diverse clients including construction, manufacturing, distribution and real estate. He is largely responsible for building the firm's niche in the construction industry along with a reputation within the banking and bonding community. Furthermore, he acts as a consultant to the litigation support practice of the firm. He is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA & NJSCPA. His educational background includes BS in Accounting. Richard McGuinness, CPA Mr. McGuinness has over twenty five years experience and directs the Small Business Department with specialization in real estate, community associations, construction and related business. He is also responsible for some of the largest real estate client groups within the firm. He is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA & NJSCPA. His educational background includes a BS in Accounting and a Masters in Taxation. William P. Hughes, CPA Mr. Hughes is an audit partner with over twenty five years experience. He has vast experience providing both business and management consulting to a board range of industries including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, real estate, printing and a specialization in construction. He serves as the technology partner, providing consulting services to clients regarding the implementation of new computer systems, software solutions and applications. He is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA and the Long Island Business Development Corporation. He serves on the Construction Contractors Committee of the NYSSCPA. His education includes a BBA in Accounting. Maryann Schugmann, CPA Ms. Schugmann has over twenty years of experience and directs both the Trust and Estate Division and the individual tax group. She is highly acclaimed within the legal and accounting industry for her expertise. Ms. Schugmann is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA and the Estate Planning Council of Rockland County, Inc. Educationally, she has earned her BA in Mathematics and an MBA in Professional Accounting. New Directors Gary Kahn, CPA, CVA, ABV Mr. Kahn has over thirty five years of experience and is the founding member of KH&H, LLP. His commitment to quality and the personalized service provided to each and every client has been fundamental to the growth of the firm. Building on his knowledge of accounting, Mr. Kahn pursued accreditation in the field of business valuation and qualification as an expert witness. Mr. Kahn is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. His education includes a BS in Accounting and a Master in Accounting and Taxation. Mr. Kahn has also served as a Professor of Accounting at William Paterson College. Enid Hoffman, CPA, ABV, CVA Ms. Hoffman has built her reputation, and that of the firm, with her focus on maintaining high level of expertise among the staff and the application of the tax code in the best interest of her clients. She has also built a substantial practice in the area of trust and estates, a specialized tax discipline. Ms. Hoffman's work in the area of litigation support includes valuations and financial analysis of corporations, partnerships and professional practices as well as the valuation of licenses and degrees in matrimonial matters. Ms. Hoffman is a member of the AICPA, NYSSCPA, International Business Association and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Her education includes a BA and 30 credits towards her masters. |
