News ReleasesMartin Leventhal Appointed as the Chair of the Mediation and Arbitration Committee of The New York State Society of Certified Public AccountantsMartin Leventhal, CPA has been appointed as chair of the Mediation and Arbitration Committee, taking office on June 1, 2011. The Mediation and Arbitration Committee administers the Society's mediation and arbitration program, which assists in the resolution of disputes between or among Society members. Mr. Leventhal, the Co-Chairman of the firms Business Investigation and Insolvency Group, has over 40 years of professional experience providing tax, auditing, litigation services, forensic accounting and expert witness services. Mr. Leventhal acts as a consultant to taxpayers and attorneys for tax examinations including fraud. His expertise also includes the following industries: securities, medical and legal practices, manufacturing and real estate. He also has extensive involvement in both the auditing and administration of not-for-profit entities. He is a CPA licensed in New York and New Jersey. Mr. Leventhal received his B.S. from Brooklyn College. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The Accountants Club of America. Additionally, he is a Past Chairman of the NYSSCPA Litigation Services Committee and the Consulting Services Oversight Committee. He is currently a member of the AICPA "Relations with the Bar" Committee. Besides his professional involvements, he is the President of Harbor Child Care, the largest not-for-profit childcare group in Nassau and Suffolk counties. |
