News ReleasesFred Shapss Elected To Serve On The North American Board of Directors And World Board Of Directors Of PrimeGlobalFred Shapss, CPA, has been elected to serve on the North American Board of Directors and World Board of Directors of PrimeGlobal, the third largest, accounting association in the world, compised of over 350 highly successful independent public accounting firms in 86 countries. Founded in 1977 and expanded through a global merger in 2011, PrimeGlobal provides member firms with tools and resources to help them furnish superior accounting, auditing, and management services to clients around the globe. Fred Shapss, CPA, is the Chairman of the firm and serves on the Executive Committee. He has 30+ years of experience and joined the firm in 1967. He specializes in providing accounting and auditing, as well as tax services, to the securities brokerage, insurance, real estate and textile machinery industries, model agencies, as well as in estate and financial planning. Mr. Shapss has testified as an expert witness on numerous occasions, including the representation of clients in the breakup of a large law firm, matrimonial matters, an arbitration of clients’ misuse of funds, a business dispute where buyer argued he had overpaid and the purchase agreement was faulty, plus an arbitration hearing representing a law firm where a partner left and alleged accounting irregularities. Mr. Shapss has extensive work in the securities industry and has testified as an expert witness in matters regarding improper margin calls. He is a CPA licensed both in New York and Florida. Mr. Shapss received his BBA from CCNY and has taken advanced courses including Real Estate Investment Analysis at the Wharton School of Business and Federal Taxation of Real Estate Transactions and Syndications at New York University. Mr. Shapss is a member of the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the AICPA and is active in raising funds for North Shore Hospital on Long Island, NY. |
