News ReleasesAvery E. Neumark, CPA, JD, LL.M Appointed As A Member Of The Employee Benefits Technical Resource PanelAvery E. Neumark, CPA, JD, LL.M, has been appointed as a member of the Employee Benefits Technical Resource Panel of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants for the fiscal year 2009-2010. Mr. Neumark is the Partner-in-Charge of Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation with Rosen Seymour Shapss & Company LLP ("RSSM") and has over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting and employee benefits consulting and Mr. Neumark joined RSSM in 1994. He also has served as Counsel to the law firm of Rosen & Reade. Prior to joining RSSM, Mr. Neumark has extensive experience in the technical aspects of qualified plans and executive compensation and has advised clients on the design, operation and compliance requirements in accordance with the relevant statutes. Mr. Neumark has published and lectured in these areas as well. A cum laude graduate of Yeshiva University in 1974, Mr. Neumark received his JD degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1977 and his LL.M in Taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1980. Mr. Neumark is a member of the American Bar Association's Employee Benefits Committee and is Chairman of the Fringe Benefits Sub-committee. He has served on the Tax Division Executive Committee of the New York Society of CPA's ("NYSSCPA") and is a former chairman of the Employee Benefits Committee. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association's Employee Benefits Committee and the Tax Management Compensation Planning Advisory Board. He has lectured throughout the United States to such groups as the American Bar Association, American Institute of Federal Taxation, New York State Society of CPA's, International Association for Financial Planning, American Compensation Association, Institute of Certified Financial Planners and the Practising Law Institute. Mr. Neumark joined the NYSSCPA in 1987 and has chaired its Legal Community, Mediation and Arbitration and Employee Benefits committees. He has also served as a member of its Relations with the Legal Community, Industry Oversight and Tax Division Oversight committees and was a member of its Advisory Committee on Appointments. |
